Social Justice Week

In response to increased attention to racial violence in the US in the wake of the murder of George Floyd, Professors Killam and Bobb of South Campus established a series of events under the title Social Justice Week. These events aimed to further conversations around social justice in the Broward College community by highlighting the role that social and institutional systems have played in creating racial disparities in outcomes across a number of fields, including health care, education, finance, and the workplace.

In its first year, Social Justice Week events were entirely virtual and brought together a group of national, state-level, and community-based experts. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback these events received, we are pleased to announce that Social Justice Week will be from January 24 to January 27, 2022, all of which are virtual. We look forward to engaging with our diverse community on topics of importance to each and every one of us!
