Irrational Tales

Irrational Tales

The South Gallery is thrilled to announce a solo exhibition titled “Irrational Tales” by local artist and educator Niko Yulis. The show will open on Wednesday, January 28th, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. The show will run until April 16, 2026.

In Irrational Tales, Yulis showcases a varied collection of drawings and ceramic sculptures inspired by the children’s stories. During his upbringing, he was influenced by 'Tellers' in his family who creatively adapted narratives to reflect their personal beliefs, morals, and lessons, which significantly shaped his formative years. Yulis feels a strong urge to carry on this tradition through his art, pushing himself to create new interpretations of these tales to authentically express himself. He finds comfort in the familiar elements of different tales but is also excited by the opportunity to explore his own creative avenues with them. The pieces displayed in this exhibition will focus on conveying the uncertainty stemming from life transitions and his own experiences with them.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibition and participate in the opening reception, where they can meet the artist and gain insights into his creative process and the inspiration behind his work.
