Broward College Theatre Department is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of Our Lady of 121st Street, a compelling play by the acclaimed playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. The performances will take place at the Performing and Cultural Arts Theatre on South Campus from March 20 to March 30, 2025.
Our Lady of 121st Street is a dark comedy that delves into the lives of a group of friends who reunite in Harlem to mourn the loss of their beloved nun, Sister Rose. As they gather at the Ortiz Funeral Home, they are confronted with unresolved issues from their past and the shocking discovery that Sister Rose's body has been stolen. The play masterfully blends humor and pathos, exploring themes of grief, redemption, and the complexities of human relationships.
The cast features a talented ensemble of Broward College students, who have been working diligently to capture the essence of this powerful narrative.
