Art Workshop -Create your own poster in relief printing with Visiting Artist Rosa Naday Garmendia

Rosa Naday Garmendia will present a brief lecture on her work, followed by a demonstration of various relief printing techniques. This session is designed to inspire students as they embark on creating their own posters during the workshop.

Rosa Naday Garmendia is a multidisciplinary artist from Havana, Cuba, whose work blends contemporary art and activism. Her personal journey of immigration and displacement greatly influences her work. She grew up in Miami and witnessed firsthand the stark disparities in income, education, and opportunities. Rosa Naday explores themes of identity, racism, and social justice. Her commitment to creativity and social change drives her art practice.

Rosa Naday Garmendia studied at the University of South Florida, Parsons School of Design, and University of Miami. She has exhibited in Miami, New York, Salt Lake City, Cuba, Guadeloupe and Suriname, and received numerous grants and awards, such as the Ellies Creator Award, WaveMaker Grant, MIA Stipend Award, South Florida Cultural Consortium, Artist Access Grant, and Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant, among others.
