Join Broward College for our BC Cares Day of Service in Partnership with Action for Literacy and the City of Fort Lauderdale!

Description: We are partnering with Action for Literacy and the City of Fort Lauderdale to paint mini library stands and conduct a neighborhood cleanup of Historic Dorsey Riverbend at Provident Park.

Call to Action: We are in need of 100 volunteers to sign up! We are pleased to re-open our BC Cares Event to faculty/staff and their families!

To Register: Please register on this page by Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Please make sure to only register yourself and any dependents (under 18) on your registration page. Any family member OVER 18 must register themselves separately so we may have documentation of their signed waiver.

Important Volunteer Information:

1. Location: Provident Park - 1412 NW 6 St, Fort Lauderdale, 33311

2. Date: Saturday, December 3, 2022

3. Time: 8:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

• Check-in from 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.
• Optional tour of the new YMCA facility across the street offered at 12:30 p.m.

4. Volunteer Role Descriptions:

Decorating team volunteers will be painting mini library stands that will be filled with free books and placed around the surrounding neighborhoods. One or two lead artists will be present to stand by and guide the decorating team.

Neighborhood cleanup volunteers will be helping to beautify the Historic Dorsey Riverbend at Provident Park.
